Even with the best oral hygiene, these hard tartar deposits will still build up, so it’s incredibly important that you undergo routine cleanings to keep your teeth in tip-top shape. Along with scraping the tartar and plaque from your teeth, the hygienist may also polish or scale the teeth, before finally protecting your tooth enamel through the application of special chemicals.
